Chiropractic

Chiropractors are spinal health experts who focus on the relationship between the spine and pelvis, the function of the nervous system and how this can promote health and wellbeing.

At Explore Health, your dedicated Chiropractors will listen to your health history, perform thorough examinations including orthopedic and neurological exams, before implementing a plan to help you reach optimal health and wellness which will include specific adjustments to your spine (to restore proper function of your spine and nervous system) as well as advice on nutrition, exercise and stress reduction.

We use gentle specific spinal adjustments utilizing a variety of methods including low force, manual and cranial techniques to suit you and your family’s needs. As Chiropractic treatments address various musculoskeletal concerns, it is a complementary manual therapy which may suit people of all age groups.

We can assist you with acute or chronic conditions (back/neck pain, headaches, extremity conditions to name a few), sports injuries, childhood conditions (poor sleeping/feeding issues or digestive issues) and wellness care (helping you achieve optimal function within the human body).

There are many benefits to be gained from visiting your Chiropractor, these benefits include:

  • Improved posture and sleep, achieve better focus and concentration.

  • Many patients enjoy the benefits of keeping up with their kids and grandchildren by enjoying a better range of motion and decreased muscle soreness.

  • Our clinic is child friendly. Parents and loved ones have peace of mind that their children experience a wholesome experience with gentle chiropractic care. Happy healthy spines are best nurtured from young.

Webster Technique

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is vital to the normal physiological function of both the mother and baby through out pregnancy and birth. More women and birth providers are discovering various benefits associated with chiropractic care in pregnancy and recognize this area of expertise through Webster Certification by ICPA.

The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of subluxation and/or SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, the neuro-biomechanical function in the sacral/pelvic region is improved.

Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e. dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia.

Remedial Massage Therapy

Remedial Massage is a whole-body treatment that involves the use of massage and a range of diagnostic techniques to treat a wide range of muscular and skeletal conditions.

Remedial Massage treatment involves specialised techniques to locate and repair tissue damage and to support and speed up the body’s own repair mechanisms. Techniques such as Myofascial release, Trigger Point therapy and various forms of stretching are performed, which enables optimal muscle length and range of movement to be achieved.

Remedial Massage helps to:

  • Realign muscle fibres, stretch muscle tissue

  • Stimulate blood supply to tissues, improves circulation

  • Increases and promotes joint flexibility

  • Improves posture

  • Calm the peripheral nervous system in order to relieve pain

  • Reduces anxiety

  • Enhances skin tone and skin health

  • Provide relaxation

  • Optimise general wellbeing

Radial Shockwave Therapy

EMS patented Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) is a series of high-energy percussions to the affected area. The shockwave is a physical sound wave "shock", not an electric one.

The treatment produces an inflammatory response. The body responds by increasing metabolic activity around the site of pain. This stimulates and accelerates the healing process (promotes the remodeling of dysfunctional collagenous tissues, such as tendinopathies, trigger points, muscle strains etc.), which consequently results in reduction of pain and improved range of motion. In some cases, RSWT may also eliminate your need for surgery.

Shockwaves break down scar tissue and/or calcification and the transmission of pain is diminished through neurological mechanisms (inhibition of nociceptors, also known as pain receptors).

Conditions commonly treated with RSWT:

  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy

  • Adhesive capsulitis (Frozen shoulder)

  • Subacromial pain syndrome

  • Tennis Elbow (Extensor tendinopathy)

  • Golfer's Elbow (Flexor tendinopathy)

  • Idiopathic lower back pain

  • Myofascial trigger points

  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome

  • Osteoarthritis of knee

  • Osgood-Schlatter disease

  • Medial tibial stress syndrome

  • Jumper's knee (Patellar tendinopathy)

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Plantar fasciitis
